Talking about whether or not the groundhog saw his shadow and if we'll have 6 more weeks of winter or not would have more meaning if we'd had more than a week or so of actual winter so far this winter. Anyway, Punxatawny Phil (I think that's his name) saw his shadow, while Staten Island Chuck didn't. Make of that what you will.
I was too busy wondering where the promised sun was for today to bother looking for my shadow.
Winter is not going to leave easily. It's kicking and howling right now. Just been one of those days, trying to stay warm. Work was warm. Outside was not. So I stayed in lunch time, read the paper, read blogs. Came home and am listening to the wind beat against the windows, trying to get the last laugh.
"House" was great tonight. House, the character, set a new low for obnoxiousness. I love that show.
Okay, I'm a reasonable person. Really. But this year has just sucked so far with no easing up in sight.
At least, with the high suckitude at work, I could still enjoy photo strolls at lunch hour. But not this week. This week, winter decided to put in an appearance. After a rather pleasant couple of months when there was no more than a few days of temps in the teens or even twenties (Farenheit), today started at 9° F. with a windchill of minus 5. Now is that fair? After lulling us with a mild winter? I did not ask for Arctic winds and I am not amused by their sudden appearance, nor their plans to stay a while. The whole f'in week is supposed to be this cold. For the first time this winter, it's even chilly in our apartment.
Now you'll have to excuse me. There's a hot chocolate in the kitchen with my name on it.
In other news, it's winter out there! Sheesh. Nine degrees Farenheit when I woke up this morning and a balmy 11 when I left for work a half hour later. Wind chill was something like -6. Word of advice. Don't smile when you're out in weather like that. Even with chapstick on, my upper lip cracked.
