Cinnamon Muffins

While I'm a chocoholic, I also love cinnamon. This week, I made cinnamon muffins from a mix and while I made a mess doing so, as usual, they taste pretty damn good. Very cinnamon-y.

The mix I used was from Krusteaz Baking and you can make a crumb cake or muffins using it. Since I have muffin tins, but not the right size cake tin, I made the muffins. The package yielded 12 muffins.

I spotted boxes of Duncan Hines Simple Mornings Triple Chocolate Chunk Muffin Mix at the grocery store and had to try them. And I'm happy to report that they're reasonably moist, very chocolatey muffins with real chocolate chips, as well as easy to make. You can make 6 giant muffins, a dozen medium size (which I made), or 36 mini muffins. They make a good breakfast treat.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

It's been a rather domestic time for me, which is more unusual than you can imagine. On a whim, I bought a box of Betty Crocker chocolate chip muffin mix and made them yesterday. The chocolate chips are very yummy, but as a whole, the muffins are rather bland. Fortunately, there are a lot of chocolate chips in each. The box of mix makes a dozen. And as you can see from the photo, I never can fill muffin/cupcake cups evenly.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookies! I needed props for a photo, so I made them. After the photo, I got to eat them. Well, not all of them, yet, just a few. Not the best batch I've ever made, either, as the ingredients were getting stale. I had to soften the brick of brown sugar in the microwave and it was still difficult to blend with the butter and egg and white sugar. But they're tasty enough.

These business cards that sprout are pretty cool. I collect business cards -- hey, they're free for the taking from shops and businesses, so why not? -- but I don't think these will be happy in an album. Found on Boing Boing.

Meanwhile, nothing says "I'm home!" like a batch of chocolate chip cookies. So I baked some. They're pretty much the only cookies I can bake. Okay, the only thing I bake that doesn't come in a box.
