Moody Times

Does anyone remember the old Unky Moods? They were cute little drawings showing different moods, done by Marc Lutz. A while ago, I saw someone had started them up again, using his old drawings with permission, then adding their own and calling them Punky Moods. So I added it back here. It means logging into the site and choosing a new mood, and I'll still post my mood on each post, but will try using the Punky Moods for a more overall expression of my emotional state. All of which is easier than uploading all those cute clip art moods I did after Unky Moods vanished and swapping out the code each post.

Had dinner with a couple of friends at a burger joint called Stand. Along with burger with bacon, fries, and fried pickle slices, I had a mini toasted marshmallow shake. Yum!

Feeling: stuffed after a big meal and rather sleepy.

Comfort Food

Comfort food isn't just chocolate. And much as I love pizza and hamburgers, I don't consider them comforting. Just yummy. But good macaroni and cheese is definitely in the "comfort food" category. This is a build-your-own dish I had for dinner Friday night at Sarita's in the East Village here in NYC. They have 4 sizes: Nosh, Major Munch, Mongo, and Partay. I had a Major Munch and the ingredients I chose were cheddar and mozzarella for the cheeses and chicken, bacon, and broccoli for the fillings. Yum!

Hubby and I saw America last night. They were wonderful, as always. The opening act, Barnaby Bye, was pretty good, even if I couldn't make out the lyrics (I'm pretty sure they were singing something.)

Vacation Fun

I'm in New Jersey, visiting a friend. We went to the previews for Philadelphia Miniaturia, now held in NJ, bought some things, then had dinner at the Olive Garden. Chicken Parmagena and (pictured) Manicotti.

Dinner with friends at the Outback. Yummy, but I'm stuffed. Work was busy busy busy. Mets/Astros game is in the 17th inning. Long day and now a long night.

Shake Shack

The Shake Shack is a place I've wanted to try for a long time, but the looooong lines lunchtime made it impossible. So today, a friend and I went after work. The burgers are wonderful, the fries crinkle cut and perfect, and the chocolate shake we shared was thick and yummy. It was a gorgeous day, too, the kind of spring day/evening we used to get a lot of, the kind that makes New York gleam. It doesn't get much better than this. Made up for my having to go back to work today. Only had 152 emails to sort through, not nearly as much as I'd feared. ;)

This is what I had as my post-Passover meal, since I was working the late shift today. The sun hadn't quite set yet, but it was late afternoon, so I figured it was close enough. It fell apart as soon as I picked it up. Very messy, but very yummy.
