Here's a hot way to be reminded to check for breast cancer. BTW, men can get breast cancer, too, but I don't think this will help straight guys remember to self-check. Breast cancer month isn't until October, but we all should be self-checking monthly.

An App that's Very Apt

Ghirardelli Chocolate to Help Fight Breast Cancer
This looks like an offer for milk chocolate, which I really don't like at all, but it's a very worthy cause: Ghirardelli Chocolate joins with the American Breast Cancer Foundation to fight breast cancer with donations and a product offer, plus a sweepstakes to win gift cards for Cole Haan.
Remember: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Another worthy charity is Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I'd meant to do this pic earlier in the month. Actually, I'd taken a picture last November when I got my annual mammogram and planned to use it, but I just couldn't bring myself to post it. So, I used one of my Barbie dolls, instead.
It's recommended that women over 40 get annual mammograms (after a baseline mammogram a couple of years earlier) and high risk women should probably be getting them in their 30s. Men can get breast cancer, too. Everyone should do monthly self checks.

Passionately Pink
This guy does truly amazing art. Link found on Comic Coverage.
Busy day at work.
Islanders won their second game in a row. Tonight was their home opener.
And Yahoo! is donating one dollar to Susan G. Komen for the Cure for every photo added to the Passionately Pink for the Cure flickr group, with a max of $50,000, to fight breast cancer. So far, there are close to 26,000 photos in the group pool posted by the 8,000 and counting members of the group.
