Fun With PhotoShop, part 3: Adding Text

Can this mean fancy headings for the sidebar are in the foreseeable future? That's the goal, anyway.

I still have a ways to go in figuring out all the ins and outs of this stuff, but at least I actually got text on a picture. I also want to be able to make my own graphics from dingbats and wingdings and do more in that area with my own photos.

One step at a time.

Okay, this came out interestingly. We had snow, about 3 inches, most of it gone by the time I got out with my camera. I took a picture outside my apartment building and made a montage of special effects in PS as a way to play more with layers. The result is a bit big for here, but you can look at it here.

Okay, I had to show off my meager efforts. I played with layers and effects such as stroke and color range, plus worked with the selecting tools.

Here I played with layered effects.

And this is an attempt to do something on a transparent background.

Addenda: Which apparently didn't work so well. I suppose I could've put it on a brown background to match the background here, but I really want to figure out how to make the background not appear at all so the page color comes through. hmmmmm.... Back to the drawing board, I guess.
