This one is Cat's fault. She's such an enabler. heh
01 : What is your homepage set to?
I actually don't remember. Since I got the Firefox extension that lets me always open FF to what was on last and I always have 7 sites open on tabs when I close, I haven't seen my homepage in nearly a year. I think I have it set for my site: ImPRESS Books.
02 : What is your favorite website?
Besides mine? heh. I'd have to go with Bloglines, which lets me read most of the blogs I follow.
03 : Which five NON-EMAIL websites do you frequent most often?
Well, the 6 (the 7th is Gmail) I always have open: Blogger, Bloglines, LiveJournal, my personalized Google Home Page (not to be confused with my Google Personalized webpage), flickr, eBay, and My Yahoo!
04 : What is your favorite band site (official or fan site)?
Uh.... I don't even have a favorite band and I rarely visit music sites, except to check lyrics. I do link to music sites on my website.
05 : What is your favorite search engine?
Google
06 : What is your favorite site to waste time on?
Define "waste time"? I suppose the least useful of the sites I spend time on, except for when I'm actually listing items for sale or arranging for shipping of sold items, is eBay, a new addiction.
07 : What is your favorite online comic?
There are 2 that I follow via Bloglines that aren't in the newspapers, too: Unshelved and Savage Chickens.
08 : What is the very first site you remember visiting?
At the end of 1995, we got AOL. I guess that counts. I don't recall what website was actually my first. I have enough trouble remembering what happened last week.
09 : What site have you been visiting the longest?
Well, I used to use Yahoo! before Google came along, so maybe that.
10 : What now-defunct website do you miss the most?
Uh.... I know there were a couple, but I honestly can't remember.
11 : What website cheers you up?
My favorite blogs. For sheer laughs, Miss Cellania is one of the best. And of course, there's always Brian Damage.
12 : What website annoys you?
Can't think of any, because if they annoy me, I don't go back. There are some, though, that I have or have had to use at work that are annoying due to poor navigation.
13 : How old were you when you first used the 'net?
Well, when we got AOL at the end of 1995, I was 42.
14 : How long did it take you to stumble on a porn site?
Define "porn." Actually, some blogs might qualify and I "stumbled" upon some of them once I got on Blog Explosion about 18 months ago, or thereabouts. Otherwise, I went to look out of curiosity, but mostly, the sites I've been on have been adult and not what I'd call porn. Except maybe that cat porn site. I can't find the one I'd been on, but here's another.
15 : Have you ever put a profile up on an online dating site?
I've been married longer than there have been online dating sites, that I know of, so therefore have had no reason to. Hubby and I mark our 21st anniversary next month.
16 : Approximately how many site links are in your favorites?
I have probably 30 at home, but mostly, I use the links on my website (100s of 'em) or what I've loaded into del.icio.us. I have have a blog and webpage of links I use exclusively for work. I found that easier than constantly having to update favorites every time they give us a new PC at work.
17 : Which website do you love the design/layout of?
Google has an elegant design. flickr is fairly nice, too. The American Foundation for the Blind has a rather nice site, but they keep redesigning it. I loved the version that had about 2 or 3 designs ago. The current one is fairly clean and easy to use. I really like the Wolfner Library's site, too.
18 : What online shopping/store site do you like best?
Oooo, tough choice. I've got 3: Amazon, eBay (well, I do shop there), and Zappos! Okay, I love Sock Dreams, too.
19 : What are the last five sites you visited?
The sites mentioned in #3.
20 : Which email site do you use?
Gmail, Yahoo!, and I still have a couple of AOL email accounts.
21 : Who is your Internet provider?
TimeWarner's Road Runner service via cable modem.
22 : What kind of 'net do you have (dial-up, cable, etc.)?
The aforementioned cable modem. A T1 (or it might really be the T3 they claim it is) at work.
23 : Have you ever gotten a computer virus? How bad was it?
Not that I've ever been sure of. I have had a few problems over the years that Go-Back took care of.
24 : What website are you addicted to?
See the sites listed in #3, for starters.
25 : Do you have a website? If so, list:
ImPRESS Books and all my blogs. My many, many blogs.
26 : Do you have a paid subscription to any sites? If so, list:
I have paid accounts for LiveJournal, Publishers Weekly, and flickr.
27 : What are your favorite LJ communities?
The icon communities and the ones for style/theme help.
28 : Do you own any LJ communities? Which ones?
I have a few: The MalContents (for action figure fun), Nothing Special (for icons), and ITB Headquarters (a fictional community).

Paybacks are sweet! I junk you up with memes, and you link to cat porn! :-)
ReplyDeleteI am honored to cheer you up! Boy, how DO you find time to keep up with so much? The first website I visited was Compuserve in 1988. That wouldn't even qualify as a website now, but its all we had back then!
ReplyDeleteI rock!
