Duckfest

Today was Duckfest, run by Duck Planet, an annual gathering of rubber duck fans that this year was held in NYC. It was my first time (and only time unless it's in NYC again). It's basically a party with about 20 or so people for a few hours, with a rubber duckie theme. We played Ducko (Bingo) and I won a rubber duck. There were yummy cupcakes and duck shaped cookies. After, a few of us went out to dinner.

I wish they'd do it in the Netherlands! My youngest teenager would like to go.

  2. It's usually in Seattle or somewhere on the west coast of the US. It was in NYC this year because one of my friends from flickr who lives in NY offered to run it this year. It would be nice if it grew into a big function and had functions in many countries.

Perhaps the plastic duck could replace the bald eagle as the USA national bird.

I do enjoy the rather quirky look at New York I read in your journal. It's well written and amusing. I'm pleased to see hear your health seems to be getting back to normal.
