Went to a retirement party tonight for a colleague who will be missed. I am so jealous of her and the other retirees who came to the party. They all look so happy.
Nasty, wet, cold day. The wind is howling now.
Nothing much else going on, which makes for a boring blog.

I am not so sure that retirees (We don't actually have that word in england and wouldn't retirers be more correct?) are that happy. Perhaps they are at their happiest meeting past colleagues that are still working so that can give a false impression. Be honest would you really be pleased if you loinger had to go to work?
ReplyDeleteAll my retired former colleagues are happy. They're traveling, they have little or no stress, they're taking classes, they're having fun. I would probably get a part time job that required no thinking, and spend the rest of the time writing. :)
ReplyDeleteWe call them retirees here, similar to working people being called employees. Employers are the ones who hire employees. I don't know that I've ever seen retirers. I'm not sure what it would even mean. ;)
