New York City from the Air

I've been cleaning and found some old duplicate photos. I thought I'd scan some in. One, a sunset after rain, is now posted to Creative Endeavors, but the three above seemed more suited for here. They were taken on a flight home, probably in the '90s, though perhaps earlier. The World Trade Center is visible in the first shot. I have a lot of photos of the Twin Towers, and it's always a bit startling now to see them.

The pictures are a bit fuzzy and light, but it's not easy taking photos from a plane with the sun glaring off the dirty window. The bottom photo shows LaGuardia Airport in Queens, near the top, with Shea Stadium and the old NY World's Fair grounds, including the Unisphere which is a bit below Shea.

EDITED: And this is now my 3rd (or perhaps my 4th) attempt to get this loaded so the photos are a nice size and will still fit and to not have my PC freeze. Firefox 1.5 and Cyber Chocolate are not getting along. Whenever I try to look at the blog after posting, the damn thing freezes. I know there's a lot of Javascript here, but it's getting hung up on one of the counters. Plus, FF 1.0.6 had no trouble with it. Think I'll open IE to check it out after posting this time.

I like the pictures...they make me want to visit the city. One day I definitely will.

As for the trouble you mentioned, I had a similar problem today. My Firefox is 1.0.7, but today it wasn't loading photos onto pages and it kept hanging up on my stat counter as well. Very odd. I had to shut it down completely, and about an hour later, all seemed to be working normally again. I just don't know which program to blame!
