Happy New Year!

Elton John has been sculpted in chocolate. Also, a report of Pirates of the Caribbean-inspired M&Ms. No sign of dark chocolate ones, though. Thanks to Candy Addict for the links.

I read in the Stargate magazine that they're actually going to have action figures for both SG-1 and Atlantis one of these days. If they come out in 2006, I'll be very happy.

Tried yet another Chinese take-out place, this time for our traditional Chinese meal for New Year's Eve. Better than the last place, but still not great. Did get this pithy and profound fortune in the first cookie I opened:
"Dwelling on the negative simply contributes to its power."
Worked a part day to make up some of the hours I took off for the transit strike. Wasn't fun working an extra day, but it was nice getting in later than everyone else and getting to leave an hour earlier. I couldn't work more than 5 hours over the weekly 35 hour schedule (or in this case, 28 hours due to Monday having been a holiday) because of union rules governing overtime, as in, we don't get it as a rule so we can't get into an overtime situation. But I didn't want to put in a full day, anyway. Kinda snowy, rainy, cool, and nasty day overall.

And it's hard to believe 2005 is over. Aside from time passing more quickly the older I get, December seemed to fly by and I'm not mentally prepared for a new year to begin in a couple of hours. Even weirder, it's still Chanukah.

Ah well. You all have a happy one.
