Sad End to 2004

The news from Asia just keeps getting worse and worse. It really is hard to comprehend so many deaths at once and the figure keeps going upward.

Jerry Orbach died. I liked him and his work well before he landed on "Law & Order."

One bit of cheery news is that Ben Browder, late of "Farscape," will be joining the cast of "Stargate: SG-1" next season. Richard Dean Anderson wants a limited role to spend more time with his family, which is understandable. And I can't complain about the choice of Browder to pick up the slack in the hunk department. Claudia Black, his costar from "Farscape" will be appearing soon as an alien on Stargate, so it would be very cool if they can reunite them for an episode or two down the road. With "Farscape" off, the Stargate shows are the best SF on TV. I'm hoping the new "Battlestar Galactica" will be at least half as good.

Not much else going on. I think I have end of year malaise.
