I think of myself as a realist, but I'm starting to wonder since I'm continually disappointed by the same, well-meaning person who can't meet a schedule no matter what she thinks. I should know better by now. Yet I'm also still surprised when she does meet the schedule, so maybe I'm a hopeful realist.
Went to the gym. Felt good to be on the treadmill and I did better than I'd thought I would, but I'd gained weight. feh. Nice new StarTrac machines, though, and nearby so I should be able to go sometimes after work. And I finally got to start the book designated for gym reading.
Sometimes, I don't think I'll ever get caught up with stuff.
I've been enjoying the message boards on Library Thing. Even splurged on a permanent account.
Some jerk on eBay wanted to cancel a bid on an auction I have up for an action figure, claimed his kid put on the bid, wouldn't pay, yadda yadda yadda. Which would've been no problem, except he started out by cursing, said his fucking kid did it, and was generally rude. Sure, that makes someone eager to be helpful. I'm assuming he was a guy, but it could've been a foulmouthed or foul-fingered? woman. So I replied that if he won and didn't pay, I'd follow up as per eBay's TOS. Which I wouldn't bother with for a minimum bid item of $1.99 that I'm gonna toss if no one wants it. But I didn't like the cursing. In response, this non-human called me an asshole. Which I've always thought was used in reference to guys. At the very least, he should've called me a c-nt. Gee, I typed it out, then felt weird about it and took out the u. Anyway, in over a year on eBay, this non-human person is the first asshole I've encountered, so I guess I should consider myself lucky. There's a lot of rage out there and cyberspace brings out the worst in some people.
