Another Questionnaire

Blame on Cat this time.

1. Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?

My closet doors are always closed. I delude myself into thinking that helps keep the dust off my clothes.

2. Do you ever take the shampoos and soaps from hotel rooms?

No. I use them in the hotel. They're too tiny to use at home because they don't last long at all.

3. Have you ever had sex in a hotel room?

Yes, starting with our honeymoon 21 years ago.

4. Have you ever stolen a street sign before?

No.

5. Do you use Post-It Notes?

Yes, especially fun shapes and colors.

6. Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?

Hubby does the coupon cutting and gives me ones for things I usually buy like my own toiletry supplies. I use them when I remember I have them.

7. Would you rather be attacked by a big bear or a swarm of bees?

Bear. I hate flying things that come at my face, especially flying stinging things.

8. Do you always smile for pictures?

No. And if I spot the camera soon enough, I try to avoid being in the photo.

9. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Rudeness. There's way too much of it these days, especially by people walking around NYC.

11. Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?

Uh, huh? The sheets on the mattress, tucked onto it. We don't use topsheets, if that's what you mean. We use comforters.

13. Have you ever peed in the woods?

No. Just at the beach when I was a kid.

14. Do you ever jump up and down to make your privates bounce?

What an odd question. No.

15. Do you chew your pens and pencils?

I used to chew pencils when I was a kid, not pens. I ate paste, too.

16. What's your favorite animal and why?

Dolphins and other cetacea. I suspect they're more intelligent than we are and merely tolerate us because we amuse them.

17. Do you like popcorn from those big tins?

I like popcorn. Doesn't matter where it's from as long as it tastes good.

18. Could you marry the person you are with now?

Gonna be married to him for 21 years in 3 weeks.

19. What is your "Song of the week"?

I have no idea what this means. I like a lot of songs, most of them from prior to this decade.

20. Is it okay for guys to wear pink?

Better them than me. I hate pink. Rose is okay.

21. Do you still watch cartoons?

No, except for animated movies, and that's only because I don't have time for them.

23. Where would you bury hidden treasure if you had some?

In a bank vault.

24. What do you drink with dinner?

Mostly, water.

25. What do you dip a chicken nugget in?

From Mickey D's, sweet and sour sauce. Theirs is great. Otherwise, ketchup.

26. What is your favorite food/cuisine?

Chinese. Or a good kosher corned beef on club roll, no mustard with a 3/4 sour pickle. Or pizza.

27. What movies could you watch over and over and still love?

I haven't watched many movies over and over for a lot of years, but the movie I've probably seen more than any other is Otto Preminger's Laura. Otherwise, most of Mel Brooks's movies, the Marx Brothers, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. I also try to watch Hitchcock movies again if I get the chance.

28. Were you a boy/girl scout?

Neither. heh

29. Would you pose nude or strip for a magazine?

No.

30. When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?

A couple of years, I guess.

31. Favorite kind of sandwich?

The aforementioned corned beef on club.

32. Best thing to eat for breakfast?

I usually have a cookie. Pancakes or waffles, maybe an egg once over lightly.

33. What is your usual bedtime?

I force myself to go to bed around 1:00 am on work nights.

35. When you were a kid what did you dress up as for Halloween?

Didn't dress up much and can't remember for when I did.

36. Do you read the newspaper?

Yes, especially the sports, comics, tv page, and the main news items.

37. How many languages can you speak?

None other than my native English.

38. Do you have any magazine subscriptions?

Publishers Weekly, Entertainment Weekly, Newsweek, Dollhouse Miniatures, Miniature Collector, American Libraries. I buy others on the newsstand, mainly Starlog and specialized science fiction tv ones.

39. Are you in love?

Yes.

40. Which are better: Lego or Lincoln Logs?

No preference.

41. Red wine or white wine?

Neither.

42. Are you stubborn?

Yup. And proud of it.

43. Is this relationship lasting, or just a summer fling?

Damn better be lasting.

44. Watch a soap opera?

Not for many years. I got hooked on Edge of Night, Secret Storm, and Dark Shadows in the '60s, then in the '70s and '80s, I added All My Children, One Life to Live, the Doctors, Another World, Somerset, and General Hospital. GH was the last one I gave up on. Nighttime, it was Dallas.

45. Sing in the car?

With the radio or CD.

46. Dance in the shower?

Sing, yes; dance, no. I don't want to hurt myself.

47. Dance in the car?

No.

48. Ever used a gun?

No. Unless water pistols count.

49. Last time you got a portrait taken by a photographer?

High school senior year. Unless the abominations on my work ID and non-driver's license count.

50. Are musicals cheesy?

Depends on the musical, as with anything.

51. Is Christmas stressful?

Not at all, since I don't celebrate it.

52. Ever eat a pierogi?

Yes, but it's been many years. Had 'em in local pizza places.

53. Favorite type of fruit pie?

I don't like pie. Except pizza pies. :)

54. Occupations you wanted to be when you were a kid?

Teacher, librarian, cop. Back then, I never would have passed the height requirement for cop, so it's just as well that wasn't an option for me. I think I would never have made it through training.

55. Do you believe in ghosts?

No.

56. Ever have a deja-vu feeling?

Yes. Right now, actually. heh

57. Take a vitamin daily?

Yes.

58. Wear slippers?

Not anymore. They fall apart too fast. I wear slides at home now.

59. Wear a bath robe?

No. I'm always dressed if just in sloppy clothes, tee-shirt with shorts or sweat pants. I sleep in tee-shirts or nightshirts and change when I'm getting ready for bed.

60. What do you wear to bed?

See #59.

61. First concert?

Probably the Fifth Dimension at Forest Hills Stadium when the Monkees cancelled sometime in the early '70s.. Or maybe one of the concerts in Central Park in the '70s, the old Shaffer (later Dr. Pepper) series.

62.Wal-Mart, Target or K-Mart?

None of them.

63. Nike or Adidas?

My sneakers are all Easy Spirit.

64. Fritos or Cheetos?

Cheetos. Definitely Cheetos.

65. Corn nuts or sunflowers seeds?

Never heard of corn nuts. I like but don't really eat sunflower seeds.

66. Have you ever chosen a boy/girl over a friend?

No.

67. Ever take dance lessons?

Took one disastrous ballet/tap class when I was a kid, and there were the required unit in high school. The modern dance class to fill my gym requirement in college was fun. We learned a bit about choreography and had to go to dance concerts. I got my lifelong love for Paul Taylor Dance Theater from that.

68. Is there a profession that you picture your perfect future spouse?

That's a silly thing to choose a mate by. Someone who could support himself was all I required.

69. Can you curl your tongue?

No. I can bend it a bit.

70. Ever won a spelling bee?

No. I don't recall being in any that were official.

71. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?

Yes.

72. Own any record albums?

We must have a few hundred, collected since the '60s.

73. Own a record player?

We still have a couple because we still have records, though we don't use them much.

74. Regularly burn incense?

Never. I'm allergic to strong odors.

75. Ever been in love?

Yes.

76. Who would you like to see in concert?

Would love to see Paul McCartney. I'm sorry I never got to see Bobby Darin or the Righteous Brothers. There are too many performers and groups I missed out on seeing and now it's impossible due to death and injury. Of the ones I've seen, I'd love to see the Hollies again. Once for them was not enough.

77. Hot tea or iced tea?

Neither. I don't like tea.

78. Tea or coffee?

Don't like coffee, either.

79. Favorite kind of cookie?

Chocolate chip, Oreos, Milanos (pretty much any kind of Milanos).

80. Can you swim well?

I can barely float for more than 2 minutes.

81. Can you hold your breath w/o manually holding your nose?

Yes. I'm mostly a mouth breather.

82. Are you patient?

Not as much as I used to be. It depends on the situation.

83. DJ or band, at a wedding?

We had an amazing band.

84. Ever won a contest?

No. Haven't really entered any, so I couldn't expect to win any.

85. Ever have plastic surgery?

No.

86. Which are better black or green oives [sic]?

Beats me. I don't eat olives. Never have. My niece loves the green ones, ever since she got her baby teeth. She's going to be 13 in a couple of months.

87. Can you knit or crochet?

I can barely sew on a button, so, no.

88. Best room for a fireplace?

Any, I guess, though probably not a kitchen or bathroom. That's just too weird.

89. What's the best way to show affection?

Hugs are always appreciated.

90. Is it true the best way to a man's heart is his stomach?

I have no idea. I'm no cook, so never got to try out that theory.

91. Which one can't you live without cell phone or car?

I don't drive and I rarely use my cell phone, so, neither is essential to me.

92. Toothbrush or shower?

Well, I could sponge bathe and I could run toothpaste on a finger over my teeth, so, this is a toss-up.

93. Do you have any regrets?

At 53 and counting, I've got a few.

95. Did you do good (sic) in high school?

I think so.

96. Do you still talk to people from high school?

My best friend from junior and senior high got in touch with me a few years ago. Otherwise, no.

97. Have you ever been betrayed by a friend?

No, not really. Disapointed by a friend or two.
