Decluttering

Been decluttering. It's a bit odd calling it that when I keep adding things, but if things go well, the added things will take up less room than the weeded things. Put a few things up on eBay, tossed others. If the eBay items don't sell, I'll probably toss them, too. I need them out of here.

Right now, though, things look almost worse in spots than before I started cleaning because I have stuff to eBay piled up. And books, mags, and comics to read. And a stack of photos still to scan and put on CD.

Still have hundreds of VHS and Beta tapes to sort through. I wish I could replace more of them with DVDs than is possible. So many of the tapes I have are of shows that haven't been done on DVD and probably never will be. I want to weed a lot of reference books, too, now that I can look a lot of stuff up online.

The only problem with all this is that it takes time, more than I'll have come tomorrow when I have to get back to work. I'm trying to not think too much about what my desk there looks like. And I'm figuring over 500 emails to sort through. And I want to get back to writing, too, but it's really hard to concentrate on anything when the den is overflowing with junk.

And I never thought I'd call anything I owned "junk." Must be a sign of getting older. *sigh*
