Last episode of Charmed. And what a way to go out, in full glory. Brad Kern has said in interviews that he had a plan, that he knew how the show would end and he had this whole year to set it up. Things started slowly, building the Billie and her sister, Kristy storyline, sidetracking us with Cupid trying to help Phoebe find the man of her dreams, and of course, Leo being taken away until Piper and the others could defeat the ultimate test. And it all came together brilliantly tonight. Kern has said the series fans wouldn't be disappointed and I wasn't. The episode had everything, including the return of much loved characters for a real, feel-good finale. Charmed in its 8 years has been rather under-rated, dismissed by many as fluff. But the writing has been solid, the mythos consistent, and the acting superb. The show was never too dark, yet never too light, not over the course of the series. It might've had some off episodes, but on the whole, it was as brilliant in its way as Buffy and Angel were, and the Stargates and Battlestar Galactica are. It delivered the goods. You can't say more than that.
I'm heading out tomorrow, to visit a friend in NJ and on Wednesday, we head out for Michigan, a 2-day car trip, for fun and games at a fan con. I'll blog when I can. The hotel in Michigan should have its WiFi working.
