When the Idea Well is Dry

...Do a Meme!

Thanks, Cat, for providing tonight's questionnaire. The questions are an eclectic bunch and seem, as usual in such things, to skew toward homeowners.

Do you have:
(X) your own cell phone
(X) a television in your bedroom
( ) an MP3 player
( ) a photo printer
( ) own phone line (We have 2 lines, under both our names and we each -- hubby and I -- have our own cell phones.)
(X) TiVo or a generic digital video recorder (We have a DVD video recorder/player.)
(X high-speed internet access (i.e., not dial-up) (A cable modem)
( ) a surround sound system in bedroom (The surround sound is in the living room.)
( ) DVD player in bedroom (Just VHS machines there.)
( X ) at least a hundred DVDs (Maybe, I haven't counted. Does that include sets or all the individual ones in a TV series season set?)
(X) a childfree bathroom (Since we don't have children, both are child-free.)
(X) your own in-house office (It's also called "the den.")
( ) a pool (The apartment building has one, not sure if that counts.)
( ) a guest house (Yeah, it's called an elevator. Sorry, couldn't resist.)
( X) a game room (Every room in this apartment is a game room. heh)
(X) a queen-size bed or larger
( ) a stocked bar
(X) a working dishwasher
( ) an icemaker
( ) a working washer and dryer (They're in the building's basement laundry room. I doubt they count.)
(X) more than 20 pairs of shoes
( ) at least ten things from a designer store
( X) expensive sunglasses (My prescription alone costs a couple of hundred dollars, but yeah, the frames are Italian designer.)
(X) framed original art (not lithographs or prints) (Fan art, all over my living room.)
( ) Egyptian cotton sheets or towels
( ) a multi-speed bike
( X) a gym membership
( ) your own set of golf clubs
( ) a pool table
( ) a tennis court
( X) local access to a lake, large pond, or the sea (The Atlantic is mere subway stops away.)
( ) your own pair of skis
( ) enough camping gear for a weekend trip in an isolated area
( ) a boat
( ) a jet ski
( ) a neighborhood committee membership
( ) a beach house or a vacation house/cabin
(X ) wealthy family members (I think some of my relatives could be considered well-to-do.)
( ) two or more family cars
( ) a walk-in closet or pantry
( ) a yard
( ) a hammock
( ) a personal trainer
(X) good credit
(X) expensive jewelry (A few pieces.)
( ) a designer bag that required being on a waiting list to get
( ) at least $100 cash in your possession right now (Not once I bought this week's comics and a couple of magazines.)
( ) more than two credit cards bearing your name (not counting gas cards or debit cards) (Only one is in my name, but my name is on all the others.)

( ) a passport
( ) a horse
( ) a trust fund (either for you or created by you)
( ) private medical insurance (at least in theory) (Med insurance is provided by my job.)
(X) a college degree, and no outstanding student loans (Paid off long time ago, and I have a graduate degree.)

Do you:
( ) shop for non-needed items for yourself (like clothes, jewelry, electronics) at least once a week
( ) do your regular grocery shopping at high-end or specialty stores

( ) go on weekend mini-vacations
( ) send dinners back with every flaw
( ) wear perfume or cologne
( X) regularly get your hair styled or nails done in a salon (every 3 months) My hair gets cut every 6-8 weeks and I do my own nails when I'm in the mood or not going to be crafting cuz decoupage paste and varnish is hell on nail polish.)
(X) have a job but don't need the money (I've grown accustomed to eating regularly.) OR
( ) stay at home with little financial sacrifice
( ) pay someone else to cook your meals (Wish I could; ditto the cleaning question above somewhere.)
( ) pay someone else to watch your children or walk your dogs (No need as I have neither children nor pets.)
( ) regularly pay someone else to drive your taxis (huh? I don't have a taxi. Hubby either does the driving, since I don't, or I take the subway.)

( ) baffled/surprised when you don't get your way

Have you:
( ) been on a cruis.e

( ) eaten at the Space Needle in Seattle
( ) been to the Mall of America
( ) been on the Eiffel tower in Paris
(X ) been on the Statue of Liberty in New York (Many years ago, and I walked up with my father, uncle, and cousin into the head -- her arm was closed off back then, but we looked out her eyes, I guess it was. My mother, aunt, sister, and other cousin didn't make it that far.)
(X ) moved more than three times because you wanted to (Well, want is such a funny word. I was too young to care the first time, wanted to live with my family the second time since I was still in high school, wanted to be closer to grad school the third time, wanted an easier commute to work the 4th time, and wanted to live with my then-new hubby the 5th time.)

(X) hire a professional photographer for your wedding or party
(X) took riding or swimming lessons as a child (Swimming lessons, in camp, an almost total disaster.)
( ) attend private school
( X) have a Sweet 16 birthday party (A small party in our basement, just a few good friends. I think it might've been a sleepover, but it's hard to remember that far back.)

Feeling:
