Dreary Be the Day, Take 2

Been seeing this everywhere so figured I should just do it already.

I'm thinking about growing out my hair in the back (I hate long hair in front on my face, despite having and loving long bangs when I was a teen), but not as long as Brian's. It's been years since I had it even close to my shoulders. I think of it as growing a scarf for the winter. Would be fun to have a ponytail again. And I'll be able to wear my hair thingies, scrunchies, whatevers again. I have a small drawer full of them. Never throw anything out in case you might need them again, especially if they're small and keep out of the way.

Didn't actually rain today, probably because I wore my knee-hi polka dot boots to work, but it was gray and dreary.

Someone called today and asked if there was a library that had typewriters for use. Aside from the fact that we never did that, I can't remember when I last saw a typewriter in a branch library. I think we got rid of our last electric typewriter at least a half dozen years ago, maybe longer. Now, I'm wondering what the person wanted to type with it.

Longish hair is wonderful. I was forced to have short hair as a child, so in retaliation I have long hair now. Today it's braided. Tomorrow I'll let it be long. Friday maybe I'll pull it back in a barette.

But...warning: the elastic in scrunchies does age. You may--gasp--have to buy more! :-)

Oh, and btw: we have a typewriter. It doesn't work half the time (or more), but it's there. And people ask for, and use, it.

sigh...knee-high polka dot boots. I'm envious.

  2. I had my hair to mid-back when I was in high school. I hated washing it and it took forever to dry, plus it's wavy and each hair goes its own way once past my neck. I loved it short when I got it cut in college, but I think it's time for a change.

Hmmmmm.... I'll have to try all my scrunchies. Now, there's a rainy day project.

As for the boots, I love my Tamara Henriques, yes, I do. Cost me a pretty penny (lots of 'em), but well worth it.

I got Franklin. Sigh. I canNOT believe I cut 6" of hair off to suit a stupid boy who dumped me anyway! Wah!!!!

The growing out from short to long sucks but long is soooo easy. Pull it into a ponytail and you're done :-)

  4. Short's easy, too, CC. Wash and wear, if it's short enough and mine was/still mostly is. I just blow the front because it tends to get weird due to my cowlick. And it takes about 2 minutes to wash and rinse.

One should never change one's appearance to suit anyone other than oneself. My hubby prefers my hair long, but for 15 of our 20 years together so far, it's been shorter than he'd like. It's my hair so I get to choose. It's not like he'd be the one caring for it. :)
