Yuna

Yuna is an awesome doll currently in its last few days on Kickstarter. The doll is awesome and I want one, but they're far from their goal with only a few days to go. If you love toys, have kids, appreciate a non-sexist doll, or just love entrepreneurship, please contribute something to this Kickstarter.

Fashion Week

It's Fashion Week in New York. Other than looking at the photos in the newspaper of the latest fashions I would never wear and wouldn't be able to afford, I couldn't care less, but my dolls.... ah, they care. So, here's their tribute to Fashion Week.

Doll Fashion Show
It's nasty out, rain, rain, and oh, more rain in the forecast, with nasty thunderstorms and maybe a tornado watch. Perfect day to stay in.

Feeling: lethargic

Ginormous M&Ms

Ficon Doll with M&Ms
Who wouldn't want ginormous M&Ms? I've been contemplating what it would be like to eat M&Ms this size after taking this photo with my new 16 inch doll.

Feeling: the chocolate love

Diamonds May Be a Girl's Best Friend, But Selina Kyle Prefers Chocolate 1/52

I'm doing a 5th year of a photo meme on flickr. It's part of a flickr group called Plastic 52, where you take a toy or theme and take a relevant photo every week and post it to the group. Since I'm doing Toys and Chocolate for this year, I'll be posting the pics here, too. here, Catwoman (Selina Kyle) enjoys a bit of cake, actually a rainbow cookie.

Nothing Like an Afternoon Ballgame

I went with a friend to see the Mets take on the San Francisco Giants this afternoon. Except for the wind, it was a perfect day for a game. Even "Gavin" here agrees!

And the Mets won!

Barbie Dolls

Apparently, Barbie dolls aren't just for playing dress-up. Some girls like to torture the poor dear. Now, I was known to play non-regulation games with my Barbie and Ken, action/thriller scenarios like the fan fic I later wrote, all for the hurt comfort factor, but Ken was the object of torture, not Barbie.

I don't have my Barbie and Ken, anymore. My Barbie was brunette ponytail Barbie with the black and white bathing suit. Ken was fuzzy-haired blond Ken. And both had a serious skin affliction. See, those old dolls were made of the sort of plastic (or whatever) that did not react well with chlorinated water and my dolls went swimming in our backyard pool a lot. I told people they developed leprosy, but basically, they got very slimy and their fingers eroded and fell off. I had to throw them away, poor things.

I lost Barbie's sister Skipper, probably when we moved, but I still have Midge and Alan, pictured here. They're a bit dusty, and Alan sure looks like he would rather be wearing casual clothes.

Feeling: (Yes, this is a picture of me.)
